Bikini Beans Coffee: CMU Retaining Wall & Commercial Masonry in Scottsdale

Father & Son Masonry completed the structural CMU retaining wall construction for the new Bikini Beans Coffee location in Scottsdale, AZ. The project began with precision excavation and foundation prep, with our crew installing reinforced CMU block along a curved perimeter layout — a detail that required careful planning and skilled hands to execute cleanly at scale. The signature curved wall design added an extra layer of complexity, as each course of block had to follow the arc of the site plan while maintaining structural integrity and consistent alignment throughout.

Once the CMU walls were set, concrete was poured directly into the cores and along the top of the wall to lock everything in place and create a solid, durable structure built to last. Father & Son Masonry’s crew used CAT skid steers and concrete mixer trucks to efficiently move materials across the active job site, keeping the project on schedule despite the demanding scope of work. The finished retaining walls provide both the structural support and the clean commercial aesthetic that the Bikini Beans Coffee site required.
